Coastal cities across the region face the same twin pressures, flooding and heat, but they rarely learn from one another. This atlas gathers adaptation measures from cities on both sides of the regional divide and sets them side by side, pairing flood and heat data so options can be compared rather than guessed at.
For each city the atlas records what was tried, where, and how well it worked, with a focus on nature-based options that other places might adopt. It is built to be browsed by planners looking for precedent: a shared evidence base that turns scattered local experience into something the whole region can draw on.
Comparison is the point. By holding measures from different cities to the same flood and heat indicators, the atlas reveals which approaches travel well across contexts and which depend on conditions a neighbouring city may not share.
Over time the atlas is meant to grow with its users, each new entry adding to a regional memory of what coastal adaptation has cost, delivered, and demanded. The ambition is a resource cities update together, rather than a report that ages on a shelf.
