Wetland ecologist tracking biodiversity and carbon across the delta's seasonal floodplains.

Dr Le Thi Hoa is a wetland ecologist tracking biodiversity and carbon across the delta's seasonal floodplains. Her surveys follow how plant and animal life shift with the flood pulse, and how much carbon these wetlands hold when they are left intact.

Her research makes the case that floodplains are not wasteland to be drained but living infrastructure that supports fisheries, stores carbon, and absorbs floodwater. That evidence is increasingly central to how the delta plans its future.
